Gee’s Whip
What questions would you ask one of the most important artists of our time if you could? Over the course of many years and great effort on both our parts, I’ve been lucky enough to develop a love-hate relationship with internationally renowned artist Gee Vaucher—I love Gee with every bit of my being, and Gee hates that she loves me back.
So, one would think I could write an in-depth profile about the real Gee, with intimate tidbits and observations, perhaps some profound insights I’ve learned from this true visionary whose work has impacted countless lives and has changed the world— But I thought it would be funny to instead for Gee to be the first interview for our rehashed and ripped-off story idea that’s been done a million times but usually with very little or no sense of humor.
We’re calling our completely original idea ‘Artists Automobiles’.

I hope you got a chuckle from my little exercise in the absurd. I felt it was fitting because, in my opinion, most of what is written about Gee Vaucher and Gee’s work is very serious and often doesn't reflect Gee's incredible sense of humor. The work speaks for itself and doesn't need any critique from me or anyone else. Please enjoy these photos taken at Gee’s exhibition entitled Introspective at the Firstsite Gallery way back in 2016.
